DHAKA, April 1, 2026 (BSS) - The authorities of Bangladesh Medical University
(BMU) have made a special request to print tickets for online appointments to
reduce the crowding and suffering of patients for the outpatient services
here.

"If the treatment seekers make an appointment online and print the ticket and
bring it with them, it will be possible to get a doctor's consultation
directly at the appointed time and room," BMU Pro-Vice Chancellor
(Administration) Professor Dr. Md Abul Kalam Azad said.

BMU Hospital Director Brigadier General Irteka Rahman said a significant
number of patients are already receiving medical services easily through this
modern system.

"About one lakh patients have received medical services at BMU's outpatient
department through online tickets as of Tuesday (March 31)... Patients are
availing this facility in both outpatient-1 and outpatient-2 units," BMUH
director mentioned.

Currently, about one and a half to two thousand patients are taking online
appointments from the BMU website (www.bmu.gov.bm) every day and paying for
the tickets through digital payment system, he said, adding, "As a result,
they are getting rid of the hassle of standing in long queues and collecting
tickets."

The BMU authorities concerned also mentioned that this online system is
becoming popular among patients day by day.

If more patients adopt this digital service in the future, the overall
management of the BMUH will be easier and more effective, they hoped.
