DHAKA, Mar 24, 2026 (BSS) - Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Ali Hossain Fakir today said law enforcement agencies performed their duties with dedication to ensure a safe and comfortable Eid journey for holidaymakers this year.
He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at an Eid reunion programme held at Police Headquarters this morning on the first working day after the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
The IGP urged police personnel to play a more effective role in maintaining law and order across the country.
"Members of all police units, including highway police, traffic police and district police, carried out their responsibilities with sincerity and commitment to ensure safe and hassle-free travel for homebound people during Eid," Md Ali Hossain Fakir stated.
The police chief also exchanged Eid greetings with police officers and personnel of all ranks, as well as civil staff working at Police Headquarters, and conveyed his post-Eid best wishes to them.
Additional Inspectors General, heads of different Dhaka-based police units and staff of Police Headquarters were present at the programme.
