DHAKA, March 24, 2026 (BSS) — Former Member of Parliament (MP) Masud Uddin Chowdhury from Feni-3 constituency has been arrested by the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
He was apprehended during a raid conducted in Baridhara area of the capital on Monday night, following a secret tip-off.
DB Chief and Additional Police Commissioner of DMP Md Shafiqul Islam confirmed the arrest in a press briefing held at DMP Media Centre here this afternoon.
The DB revealed that Masud Uddin Chowdhury is currently facing a total of eleven cases.
Of these, six cases are filed in Feni district and five within Dhaka Metropolitan area.
Among those , three separate arrest warrants have been issued by the court in connection with pending murder cases in Feni.
Additionally, eight other cases—including allegations filed in both Feni and Dhaka—are under active investigation.
Authorities also confirmed that multiple allegations have been lodged against him with the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which remain under investigation.
Police further stated that the cases including murders, attempted murders, human trafficking and money laundering.
These cases have been filed across several police stations, including Paltan, Banani, Kotwali, Mirpur Model, and Hatirjheel.
Following his arrest, the accused has been produced before the court with a five-day remand prayer in connection with a case filed at Paltan Police Station and currently under investigation by the DB of DMP.
