DHAKA, March 22, 2026 (BSS) – On the second day of Eid-ul-Fitr, the festive mood showed no sign of fading as people continued to pour out in large numbers to celebrate the occasion. 

Across Dhaka, entertainment venues turned into lively gathering points on Sunday, with thousands of residents flocking to recreational spots to extend the joy of the festival, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere throughout the capital.

The highest footfall was recorded at the Bangladesh National Zoo in Mirpur, which drew an overwhelming crowd of visitors.

 Other popular entertainment centers across the city also remained packed, as families and festival-goers enjoyed their Eid holidays amid continued celebrations.

At the zoo, children joyfully observed deer, monkeys, herons, crocodiles, and various animals, experiencing delight.

 After long working routines, this open environment brought a sense of relief and peace to city dwellers.

From Sunday morning to afternoon, similar scenes were observed across major recreational sites including Lalbagh Fort, Ramna Park, Dhanmondi Lake, Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban premises, Zia Udyan, Ahsan Manzil, Hatirjheel, Bangladesh National Zoo, National Botanical Garden, Suhrawardy Udyan, Gulshan Lake, Uttara Diabari area and other entertainment centers.

Among the capital’s tourist attractions, the most popular was the Bangladesh National Zoo in Mirpur. 

Parents were seen introducing their children to various species such as tigers, lions, zebras, giraffes, deer, peacocks, monkeys, snakes, different birds, and hippopotamuses.

 Children were excited to see these animals up close.

The zoo director, Mohammad Rofiqul Islam Talukdar said that visitor numbers on the second day of Eid were significantly higher than the first day.

 The weather was also favorable for visiting the zoo, and the number of visitors could exceed 150,000.

A couple from Rampura, Rajib and Mahmuda, visited the zoo with their two children. 
They said that they rarely get the chance to go out with their children due to busy schedules, so they came to the zoo during the Eid holidays and enjoyed it together.

Meanwhile, at Lalbagh Fort, visitors were seen touring the centuries-old Mughal-era structure. Many stood in long queues to buy entry tickets. 

Inside, some people were sitting in the shade chatting, others were taking group photos or selfies, while children running across the field were being filmed.

Dhanmondi Lake remains one of the most attractive recreational spots during any festival or public holiday. 

Its natural greenery and water body charm visitors. On the second day of Eid, boating added a special attraction, and the scenic area was packed with crowds.

Ramna Park is usually bustling in the mornings, afternoons, and holidays. On Sunday, visitors enjoyed the beauty of rare trees and also took boat rides on the lake. The park remained crowded from morning to evening.

Similarly, Hatirjheel also saw a heavy flow of visitors along its walkways and lakeside areas.

Water taxi rides in the lake under tight security were a major attraction. Meanwhile, the Dhaka Metro Rail also experienced a festive rush, with long queues of passengers at Uttara North, Agargaon, and Motijheel stations throughout the day.

Beyond major tourist spots, small neighborhood parks across the capital were also filled with people enjoying outings with their loved ones.

The areas were lively with mobile food vendors and the sounds of children’s amusement rides.
