COX'S BAZAR, Mar 21, 2026 (BSS)- Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has called for unity and collective efforts to ensure peace, stability and development of the country.
Speaking with journalists after Eid prayers he said, “On this holy day, we pray to the Almighty for the peace, stability, prosperity, and development of the country."
"Let us work together to take our beloved nation forward—this should be our true joy," he said.
Highlighting the emerging global challenges, he noted that fraud and deception have emerged as serious global concerns.
“With the expansion of digital technology, such crimes are spreading rapidly across the borders, making it difficult for any single country to tackle them alone,” he said.
He mentioned that a global initiative has been undertaken under the auspices of United Nations to fight against fraud and develop a coordinated strategies.
“We continue to seek support from the international community for a sustainable and peaceful resolution,” he said.
The minister expressed hope that global organizations, particularly the United Nations would take a more active role in facilitating the progress.
He emphasized that both global fraud prevention and Rohingya repatriation require strong international collaboration./ He reaffirmed Bangladesh's commitment to continued efforts in these areas.
After the prayers, the minister also visited the Mubarakiya Mosque premises around 10:00 am, where he paid homage at the graves of his parents.
Earlier in the morning, he arrived at the mosque at around 8:30 am and later inspected the upazila grounds, directing authorities to take immediate steps for its develeopment.
