855 RpCC cleaners get Prime Minister's gift ahead of Eid

RANGPUR, March 17, 2026 (BSS) - On the occasion of the Holy Eid-ul-Fitr, a 
total of Taka 42.75 lakh has been distributed as Eid gifts among 855 
sanitation workers (cleaners) of Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) on behalf of 
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
 
Newly-appointed RpCC Administrator Advocate Mahfuz Un Nabi Chowdhury Don 
distributed the Eid gift money in a function held at City Bhaban premises on 
Tuesday afternoon as the chief guest.

Addressing the event, the RpCC Administrator, also Member-secretary of 
Rangpur Metropolitan BNP, said that the contribution of the cleaners is very 
important in keeping the city clean and livable. 
 
Rangpur city remains clean and tidy every day due to their relentless work. 
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has taken this initiative to show respect and 
gratitude to them on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. 
 
"We are happy to add a new dimension to the happiness of the sanitation 
workers due to that initiative of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman," he said. 
 
Expressing his gratitude to the Premier for the Eid gifts, he said the 
sanitation workers are an important part of city life. Rangpur City 
Corporation is always working to ensure their welfare and dignity. 
 
"Just as Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is by their side, I'm also by their 
side as the Administrator of Rangpur City Corporation and will be done the 
job as long as I am there," he said. 
 
Meanwhile, the sanitation workers were very happy to receive Taka 5,000 each 
from the Prime Minister and wished him good health, long life and success in 
governing the country.
 
Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) Central Committee Vice-president and 
Rangpur Metropolitan President Dr Nikhilendra Shankar Guha Roy, Rangpur City 
Corporation Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Md Rakib Hasan, Chief Property 
Officer Md Rubel Rana and Executive Magistrate Md Shahriar Rahman, Chief 
Revenue Officer Raj Kumar Biswas and other officers and employees were 
present, among others, at the event.
