DHAKA, March 16, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan
Police (DMP) has filed 1,186 cases against traffic law violators in different
areas of the capital.
According to a DMP press release, a total of 72 cases were filed in the
Traffic-Ramna Division, including eight buses, seven CNG-run auto-rickshaw
and 19 motorcycles.
The cases were filed during a special drive conducted by the Traffic Division
of DMP across different areas of the capital on Sunday.
In the Traffic-Lalbagh Division, 82 cases were filed, including three buses,
22 trucks, two covered vans, six CNG-run auto-rickshaw and 33 motorcycles.
The Traffic-Motijheel Division filed 238 cases, including 16 buses, 2 trucks,
7 covered vans, 22 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 134 motorcycles.
In the Traffic-Wari Division, 100 cases were filed, including 29 buses, 19
trucks, 14 covered vans, nine CNG-run auto-rickshaw and 11 motorcycles.
Meanwhile, the Traffic-Tejgaon Division filed 81 cases, including three
buses, seven covered vans, three CNG-run auto-rickshaw and 51 motorcycles.
The Traffic-Mirpur Division filed 112 cases, including five buses, eight
trucks, 12 covered vans, nine CNG-run auto-rickshaw and 46 motorcycles.
In the Traffic-Uttara Division, 194 cases were filed, including 26 buses,
five trucks, nine covered vans, 21 CNG-run auto-rickshaw and 66 motorcycles.
The Traffic-Gulshan Division filed the highest number of cases, 307,
including 17 buses, four trucks, 11 covered vans, 26 CNG-run auto-rickshaw
and 105 motorcycles.
During the drive, a total of 266 vehicles were dumped and 197 vehicles were
towed by wreckers.
The DMP said that such drives will continue to maintain traffic discipline in
the Dhaka metropolitan area.
