Mintoo for ensuring security first for developing livelihood of people

FENI, Mar 9,2026 (BSS)  - Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Abdul Awal Mintoo today stressed on ensuring security for developing the  livelihood of the people.

“The investment will not come if the peace and security not ensure and the employment would not create in absence of investment and production”, he said.

The minister made this remark while addressing at the exchange of views with the government employees at Dhaganbhuiyan upazila council auditorium here this afternoon.

Calling upon the police to take more strict role, the minister said we have to build a society free from extortion and teenage gangs which are increasing alarmingly in the country, adding that so, the people along with the law enforcing agencies should to work in a coordinated way to make the society free form these problem.

In the past, most of the investment did not come in the country due to the extortion and that’s why the ‘Dula Mia Cotton Spinning Mill’ located at Dhaganbhuiyan has been laid off, said the minister.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) M Shahidul Islam presided over the function while the function was moderated by Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Shahidul Alam.

Later, the minister participated the iftar and doa mahfil at Ataturk government Adarsha high school ground hosted by Dhaganbhuiyan upazila and poura BNP.
