Home Minister calls for discipline and order through collective efforts

COX'S BAZAR, March 9, 2026 (BSS) - Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has called for maintaining discipline and order through the collective efforts of all concerned.

"Everyone must live in order. No one should commit any injustice against people. We must not hear any news of disorder or extortion. Everyone should cooperate with the administration," he said. 

He made the remarks while addressing local leaders and activists in Chakaria, Cox's Bazar on Sunday night.

Speaking at the Dak Bungalow of the Roads and Highways Department in Chakaria Municipality, Salahuddin Ahmed urged party members to ensure order and prevent any incidents of injustice, disorder, or extortion.

Earlier in Sunday afternoon, the Home Minister arrived in his constituency Chakaria-Pekua for the first time after taking charge of the ministry.

During the interaction, Salahuddin Ahmed, also a Standing Committee Member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) emphasized establishing good governance so that people feel secure under BNP leadership.

"Such governance must be established so that people feel that BNP is running the state and they can live in peace. People should receive development, discipline, and peace. Everyone should work as a friend of the people and cooperate with the administration," he added.

Ahmed also told local leaders that they can provide suggestions regarding development and other activities in the area, assuring them that he would take responsibility for implementing them.

After the meeting in Chakaria, the minister left for his village home in Sikderpara of Pekua around 10:30 pm on Sunday, where he visited the graves of his parents and offered prayers.
