DHAKA, Mar 8, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka University (DU) has announced Eid vacation starting tomorrow, suspending all classes and examinations until March 28.

The decision was taken tonight at an emergency SMT meeting chaired by DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan.

According to a press release issued by the university's Public Relations Office, the meeting discussed the government's notification and a letter from the University Grants Commission (UGC) regarding the matter.

Following the decision, all academic activities including classes and examinations will remain closed from March 9 until the end of the Eid holidays on March 28.

However, university offices will remain open as usual on March 9. A decision regarding the continuation of administrative activities and office operations after that date will be announced tomorrow, the release said.
