DHAKA, Mar 08, 2026 (BSS)- State Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Md. Razib Ahsan, MP has instructed all authorities to adopt a coordinated plan ensuring a safe, comfortable, smooth, and orderly journey during the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr.
In this regard, he referred to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s directive to make Eid travel across the country safe, convenient, and hassle-free.
The state minister gave the instruction while presiding over a coordination meeting at the Bridges Division conference room today.
He focused on uninterrupted passenger movement through the Padma and Jamuna Bridges under the Bangladesh Bridge Authority ahead of Eid.
Razib Ahsan urged all stakeholders to remain vigilant and take necessary measures to safeguard homebound travelers.
He emphasized identifying and resolving all challenges in coordination with stakeholders and bus owners, while appealing to passengers to remain patient and follow traffic rules.
Bridges Division Secretary and Bangladesh Bridge Authority Executive Director Mohammad Abdur Rouf and officials of both institutions, attended the meeting.
Rouf informed that electronic toll collection (ETC) booths are operational at both ends of the two bridges to facilitate quick passage for ETC cardholder vehicles during Eid.
He also stressed keeping CCTV cameras functional at toll plazas and booths to monitor traffic conditions at key intersections under the Bridges Division.
Additionally, he highlighted the need for adequate change at toll booths to speed up payments and sought cooperation from vehicle owners, drivers, and passengers to prevent congestion caused by unfit vehicles and reckless driving.
