PM extends medical, rehabilitation support to injured July fighter Hossein Ali

GAZIPUR, March 6, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has extended financial assistance for the treatment and rehabilitation of Md Hossein Ali, who was seriously injured by police gunfire during the July mass uprising.

The support was handed over to the victim's family by a delegation of Amra BNP Poribar during a visit to Hossein Ali's residence in the Shurichala area of Shafipur under Kaliakair upazila in Gazipur today.

The delegation reached the house around noon and inquired about the family's condition as well as the victim's current physical and financial situation.

The team was led by Amra BNP Poribar Member Secretary Agriculturist Moksedul Momin Mithun and adviser Abul Kashem.

On behalf of the prime minister, the delegation provided cash assistance for Hossein Ali's ongoing medical treatment and also supplied materials and logistical support to help him restart a tea stall, aiming to ensure his economic rehabilitation and long-term self-reliance.

Speaking on the occasion, Mithun said such humanitarian initiatives are being carried out across the country under the direct instructions of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

He said the programme aims not only to support the medical treatment of those injured during the uprising but also to help them rebuild their livelihoods and become self-sufficient.

Expressing gratitude, Hossein Ali thanked Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for standing beside him during a difficult time.

Gazipur district BNP member Momtaz Uddin Renu, Amra BNP Poribar members Masud Rana Liton and Mustakim Billah, former general secretary of BUET Chhatra Dal engineer Abu Hanif, M-TAB vice-president Shahidul Amin and Chhatra Dal leader Abdullah Al Misbah, along with local leaders were present during the visit.

Earlier on January 18, an opinion exchange meeting with families of martyrs and injured victims of the July uprising was held at the auditorium of Krishibid Institution Bangladesh in Khamarbari in the capital.

During the meeting, Hossein Ali met Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and sought assistance for his ongoing treatment and future rehabilitation.
