NARAYANGANJ March 4, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for land Kayser Kamal today expressed dissatisfaction over irregularities at the Siddhirganj land office during a surprise visit and warned of action in accordance with government rules.

Arriving at the office before 9:00 am without prior notice, he found it locked despite official hours having begun.

After waiting nearly 30 minutes, an employee opened the office. He later observed that several officials reported to duty after the scheduled time.

Speaking to journalists, the State Minister said the government maintains a zero-tolerance policy against negligence and corruption in public offices.

"Our government is committed to ensuring accountability. Irregularities in land offices have drawn widespread complaints, particularly regarding corruption. Necessary action will be taken following due process," he said.

He added that under the directives of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the land sector is being closely monitored. The inspection revealed a significant gap between service providers and citizens, particularly in informing people about service timelines.

Kamal said the issues identified would be reviewed thoroughly and appropriate measures taken, adding that such inspection drives would continue across the country.
