RAJSHAHI, March 2, 2026 (BSS)- Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Rajshahi University 
(RU) Professor Saleh Hasan Naqib inaugurated a lift at the university's 
Shahidullah Art Building today.

The lift, with a capacity of eight people or 630 kilograms (Kg), along with a 
generator and necessary infrastructure, was installed at a cost of 
approximately Taka 96.5 lakh.
 
During the inauguration, Pro-VC (Administration) Prof Mohammad Main Uddin, 
Pro-VC (Academic) Prof Farid Uddin Khan and Dean of the Faculty of Arts Prof 
Mohammad Belal Hossain were present, among others.
 
In his remarks, after inaugurating the lift, the VC said that the 
installation will benefit everyone, especially students with special needs, 
senior teachers aged 60 and above, officers, staff, and the sick.

Depending on the availability of funds in the current fiscal year, plans are 
in place to install two more lifts, and lifts will gradually be installed in 
other academic and administrative buildings as well, he noted.
