DHAKA, Feb 28, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh missions in several Gulf countries have urged expatriate nationals to exercise heightened caution and strictly follow host government directives amid escalating regional tensions linked to the Iran-Israel conflict.
In separate urgent notices, the Bangladesh embassies in Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar advised nationals to avoid military installations, remain indoors unless absolutely necessary and comply fully with official instructions until the situation stabilises.
The Bangladesh Embassy in Manama requested expatriates in Bahrain to stay at home or in safe locations and keep essential items such as cash, CPR (Civil ID), medicines, dry food and mobile chargers ready. Nationals were also advised not to share videos or sensitive content related to the ongoing situation on social media. In Kuwait, the mission urged Bangladeshis to stay away from military facilities and adhere to directives issued by Kuwaiti authorities. Expatriates were advised to keep their Civil ID, health insurance card, medicines, mobile phones, chargers, dry food and water readily available. The Bangladesh Embassy in Baghdad called on nationals in Iraq to remain indoors or in secure locations and strictly follow Iraqi government directives. The mission's emergency hotline is +964 7827883680 (WhatsApp), and assistance is available at [email protected].
Similarly, the Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai advised expatriates in the UAE to avoid military sites, respect local laws and refrain from posting security-related photos or unverified information online. Nationals were instructed to keep their Emirates ID, passport, medicines, water and dry food ready. In Doha, the Bangladesh Embassy urged nationals in Qatar to prioritise safety, avoid military areas and strictly comply with Qatari regulations, warning against spreading unverified information on social media.
The missions said they are closely monitoring the evolving situation and remain prepared to assist Bangladeshi nationals as needed.
