CHATTOGRAM, Feb 28, 2026 (BSS) - Six flights to and from the Middle East were canceled at Shah Amanat International Airport today due to the ongoing military escalation involving the United States, Israel and Iran. The cancellations followed the closure of several airfields and Flight Information Regions (FIRs) across the Middle East, disrupting regional air traffic.

Despite the disruptions, Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-122 (Muscat-Chattogram-Dhaka) departed from Muscat, Oman, and landed safely in Chattogram at 5:00 pm local time before continuing its journey to Dhaka.

Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil, Public Relations Officer of Shah Amanat International Airport, confirmed the cancellations.

The outbound flights canceled from Chattogram included Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-147 (Dhaka-Chattogram-Dubai), scheduled to depart at 6:35 pm; Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-151 (Dhaka-Chattogram-Sharjah), scheduled to depart at 7:30 pm; and US-Bangla Airlines flight BS-333 (Dhaka-Chattogram-Doha), scheduled to depart at 5:25 pm.

Inbound international flights that were canceled included Air Arabia flight G9-520 (Sharjah-Chattogram), scheduled to depart Sharjah at 3:20 pm local time; US-Bangla Airlines flight BS-344 (Dubai-Chattogram), scheduled to depart Dubai at 3:10 pm; and SalamAir flight OV-403 (Muscat-Chattogram), scheduled to depart Muscat at 5:40 pm.

Airport authorities said airlines are working to manage domestic flight schedules connected to the affected international services to minimize passenger inconvenience.
