Adequate TCB stocks will keep market stable: State Minister Alam

KISHOREGANJ, Feb 27, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Commerce Md. Shariful Alam today said that the government has maintained adequate stocks of TCB (Trading Corporation of Bangladesh) products to keep the commodity market stable.

He came up with the remarks while speaking to journalists after inspecting various essential commodity shops at Bhairab Bazar in Kishoreganj this afternoon.

He noted that though the prices of some essential items saw a slight upward at the beginning of Ramadan, the prices of goods in the market are currently stable.

The prices of all types of products at Bhairab Bazar are now within normal ranges, he said and emphasized that market monitoring will be conducted regularly throughout the month of Ramadan to ensure that dishonest traders cannot hike prices irrationally.

He further added that TCB products are being sold at fair prices to low-income people through five trucks operating in different areas of Kishoreganj town.

Bhairab Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) KM Mamunur Rashid, Bhairab Municipality Sanitary Inspector Nasima Begum, and Bhairab Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Ataur Rahman Akand, among others, were present during the visit.
