DHAKA, Feb 27, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 1,493 cases across the capital for violating traffic rules.
According to a press release issued here today signed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Media and Public Relations Division) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Muhammad Talebur Rahman, the DMP Traffic Division filed those cases on February 26 through regular drive against traffic rule breakers.
It said the DMP traffic police dumped 290 motor vehicles and towed 157 vehicles during the campaign against traffic rule violation on February 26.
The DMP’s release further said these drives against traffic rule breakers will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets for giving city dwellers hassle-free movement.
The DMP traffic division has been working to ensure smooth traffic system in the capital, it said.
It further said that Ramna division filed 94 cases, Lalbagh division registered 79 cases, Motijheel traffic division filed 73 cases, Wari division registered 240 cases, Tejgaon division filed 92 cases, Mirpur division filed 439 cases, Uttara division registered 316 cases and Gulshan division filed 158 cases against motor vehicles as well as three wheelers and motorcycles.
