DHAKA, Feb 27, 2026 (BSS) - Gulshan-Banani Sarbajanin Puja Foundation (GBSPF)
today distributed scholarships to 85 underprivileged but meritorious
students.
The annual scholarship distribution ceremony, which began at 11 am here,
distributed scholarships under this year's scholarship programme.
The scholarship recipients were meritorious students studying in various
government, private, medical and technical universities of the country,
including Dhaka University, a press release said.
Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Pranay Kumar Verma was present on the
occasion as the chief guest while provost at Jagannath Hall of Dhaka
University Debashis Pal as special guest.
Former presidents and general secretaries of the foundation and guardians of
the students were also present at the event.
Pranay Kumar Verma highlighted the importance of community-based initiatives
in the field of education.
"The real wealth of a nation is its young generation, and education is the
key that opens the doors to their unlimited potential," he said.
The Indian envoy said Gulshan-Banani Sarbajanin Puja Foundation has set a
unique example by taking on such an important social responsibility alongside
their cultural activities.
This is the fourth consecutive year of the GBSPF scholarship initiative.
GBSPF president JL Bhowmik and Scholarship Sub-Committee convener Subash
Chandra Ghosh also spoke.
