Partner field school held in Patuakhali to promote modern farming

PATUAKHALI, Feb 25, 2026 (BSS) - A Partner Field School was held in Baufal upazila of the district with the participation of local farmers this afternoon.

The workshop took place at Bhubansahar Kachari area under the initiative of the Upazila Department of Agricultural Extension. Farmers from different blocks attended the event to receive practical training and share their field-level experiences.

Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Milon attended the programme as the chief guest, while Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer (Development Branch) Redowan Uddin Talukder was present as the special guest. Deputy Assistant Agricultural Officers of the concerned blocks were also in attendance.

Addressing the gathering, the chief guest said that the Partner Field School is playing a significant role in expanding modern and sustainable agricultural technologies at the grassroots level. He said that hands-on training and the introduction of new crop varieties and technologies can help farmers increase production while reducing costs.

He also emphasized the importance of science-based farming practices to tackle the adverse impacts of climate change, adding that such initiatives would continue to raise awareness among farmers.

Special guest Redowan Uddin Talukder said that field-based education provides farmers with the opportunity to exchange experiences, which contributes positively to overall agricultural development.

During the session, farmers received guidance on modern cultivation techniques for various crops, disease and pest management, and the balanced use of fertilizers.
