Gazette on distribution of advisers’ responsibilities published

DHAKA, Feb 24, 2026 (BSS) – A gazette has been published outlining the distribution of responsibilities among advisers appointed with the rank of minister and state minister.

The notification, signed by Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani, was issued today.

According to the gazette, the Prime Minister assigned the responsibilities to the advisers appointed with the rank of minister and state minister in accordance with Rule 3B(ii) of the Rules of Business, 1996.

Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, Nazrul Islam Khan and Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed have been appointed as political advisers. Md Ismail Zabiullah has been appointed as adviser to the Ministry of Public Administration, while Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir has been appointed as adviser to the Ministry of Finance and Planning.

The advisers appointed with the rank of state minister have been given the following responsibilities:

Humayun Kabir – Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, and Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism; Brigadier General (Retd) Shamsul Islam – Ministry of Defence; Dr Zahed Ur Rahman – Policy and Strategy;
Mahdi Amin – Ministry of Education, Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, and Ministry of Labour and Employment;
Rehan Asif Asad – Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, and Ministry of Science and Technology.

The order takes immediate effect.
