JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Feb 23, 2026 (BSS) - SM Tawhid of Daily Amar Desh and Osman Sarder of Daily Jaijaidin were elected President and General Secretary respectively of the Jahangirnagar University Press Club for the 2026-27 sessions.

Chief Election Commissioner Prof Dr Md Abdul Halim of the Botany Department announced the results at 1:30 pm today at the Teacher-Student Centre of Jahangirnagar University.

Other elected office bearers are - Vice President Shahria Alam Emon (Daily KholaKagoj), Joint Secretary Ahsan Habib (Star News), Treasurer Md Mejanur Rahman (Financial Express), Office Secretary Md Robiul Islam (Bangladesh Guardian), and Library and Publication Secretary Ali Hasan Mortuza (Daily Amader Somoy).

Besides, Md Rashedul Islam (Daily Jugantor) and Md Nishan Khan (Dainik Arthoniteer Kagoj) were elected as executive members.
