Hajj guide must give sincere service to pilgrims: Kaikobad

DHAKA, Feb 22, 2026 (BSS)- Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad has called upon all concerned to provide sincere service to the hajj pilgrims through a fair, smooth and efficient management.

"Hajj pilgrims are the guests of Allah. It is a matter of great fortune and honor to be able to serve them," the minister said while inaugurating ‘Private Hajj Guides Training-2026’ virtually at the conference room of the Hajj Office in Ashkona here today via an online platform.

The minister said hajj guides must give sincere service to the pilgrims, urging all to shun any negligence or apathy in the Hajj management as new government led by Tarique Rahman assumed office through a landslide public mandate.

“If the Hajj pilgrims are satisfied and happy, the Almighty Allah will reward them well. If the pilgrims are not provided with proper service, Allah will obviously punish them severely,” the minister observed.

The minister requested the Hajj guides to earn Allah's pleasure by serving the pilgrims.

A BNP politician Kaikobad, serving as a parliament member from Cumilla-3 constituency, also promised to personally reward the three Hajj guides for their best services to the pilgrims in 2026, regardless of government or private sector.

He announced that the first, second and third place winners will be awarded Taka five lakh, three lakh and two lakh respectively, said a release of the ministry.
 
Additional Secretary of the Hajj Division Md Ayatul Islam, Joint Secretary Dr Manjurul Haque, Director (Hajj) Md Lokman Hossain and Secretary General of HAB Farid Ahmed Majumdar were present.
