DHAKA, Feb 22, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party(BNP) Standing 
Committee Member and former minister Selima Rahman has been admitted to the 
Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of United Hospital in the capital after suffering a 
heart attack.

BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter today.

According to party and family sources, Selima Rahman suffered a sudden 
cardiac ailment around 10:00pm on Thursday (Feb 19) and was rushed to the 
United Hospital.

After medical examinations, she has been kept under intensive observation at 
the CCU. She is currently undergoing treatment there.

Her family and party leaders have sought prayers from the country's people 
for her speedy recovery.
