SIRAJGANJ, Feb 21, 2026 (BSS) - Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood today said no one will be speared for extortion and criminal activities.
"Strict legal action will be taken against them," he said while exchanging views at district administration office here.
He said, "We will devote ourselves to fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of the people. That is why the Prime Minister has emphasized the participation of young people in the cabinet. They will now play a greater role than the elders in bringing about qualitative change in the country."
Iqbal Hassan said, "As per the government's instructions, our ministry is adopting a 180-day program."
At that time, he instructed all the offices of the district's power department to prepare and submit a 180-day programme.
He said, "Quick steps must be taken to fulfill the election commitments. The people must be shown that some changes have begun."
He directed to maintain the quality of development activities.
Iqbal Hassan said, "We want to break away from the traditional ways and give a truly development-oriented society. For this, everyone must play a role."
Urging the officials to perform their duties with honesty, efficiency and dedication, the minister said, "The people of the country want to see action, not words. They need to show visible changes."
Officials from the district administration, police department, government officials and officials from Palli Bidyut, PDB, Petrobangla, NESCO, NAOPAZECO, and PGCB were present at the event.
