Bangladesh will forward under PM Tarique Rahman's leadership: Rabiul Alam

BAGERHAT, Feb 21, 2026 (BSS) - Road Transport and Bridges, Railways and Shipping Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam today said the country will move forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The minister said this at a mass reception organized by BNP Mollahat upazila unit on the Nasukhali High School ground. 

Rabiul Alam said, in a democracy, there will be opposition parties, there will be competition. But revenge cannot be taken because of that. If someone commits crime, the state will take action against him, he added.

He said, "Everyone has to work together for the welfare of the country and its people. There may be political differences, but we have to move forward together for the sake of the country." 

Referring the development activities, Sheikh Rabiul Alam said that a radical change will be brought to the country's communication system through the development of roads, railways and waterways. The government is committed to developing rural infrastructure, safe road systems and building a modern communication network, he added.

BNP upazila unit President Sheikh Hafizur Rahman chaired the programme while its General Secretary Md Harun Al Rashid conducted it.

The program was attended by BNP Central Executive Committee members Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Advocate Sheikh Wahiduzzaman Dipu, former Upazila BNP President Chowdhury Selim Ahmed, Bagerhat District BNP member Khan Monirul Islam, among others.
