DHAKA, Feb 18, 2026 (BSS) - Abu Abdullah M Saleh has been appointed as Press Secretary to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman of the newly elected government.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification confirming the appointment, granting Saleh the status of a government secretary.

According to the notification, signed by Deputy Secretary Mohammad Nur-A Alam, Saleh will assume the role from the date of his joining. The appointment is conditional upon his resignation from any profession, business, or position in government, semi-government, private, or other organizations.

The notification further stated that his appointment will remain effective for the tenure of the Prime Minister or until further notice, subject to the Prime Minister's satisfaction. Other terms and conditions will be governed by the letter of agreement.

In a separate gazette notification, the ministry announced the appointment of Atiqur Rahman Rumon as Additional Press Secretary to the Prime Minister.

His contractual appointment will also take effect from the date of joining and will continue for the tenure of the Prime Minister or subject to his satisfaction. The appointment is likewise conditional upon resignation from any profession, business, or position in government, semi-government, private, or other organizations.
