DHAKA, Feb 14, 2026 (BSS) – Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has congratulated Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman on his victory in the parliamentary elections.

In a congratulatory cable, the Qatari premier extended his greetings to Tarique Rahman on his party’s success in the recently concluded 13th parliamentary elections.

The message reflects the close and longstanding relations between Bangladesh and Qatar, particularly in areas of labour cooperation, energy partnership and bilateral trade.

Qatar hosts a large number of Bangladeshi expatriate workers, who contribute significantly to Bangladesh’s economy through remittances.
