DHAKA, Feb 14, 2026 (BSS)- Egypt today congratulated Bangladesh Nationalist 
Party (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman on his election victory, lauding the 
successful conduct of the parliamentary polls and expressing readiness to 
deepen bilateral cooperation with the new government.

In a message issued by the Egypt Embassy in Dhaka, Cairo extended its 
"sincere congratulations to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and Mr. Tarique 
Rahman on their election victory."

The embassy also conveyed its congratulations to the people of Bangladesh on 
the successful conduct of the parliamentary elections, which reflect the will 
and aspirations of the Bangladeshi people.

Egypt expressed optimism about strengthening ties with Bangladesh under the 
newly-elected leadership.

"Egypt looks forward to working closely with the new Bangladeshi government 
to further strengthen the longstanding bonds of friendship and cooperation 
between our two brotherly nations, and to advance our shared aspirations for 
development, stability and prosperity," according to the message.
