DHAKA, Feb 14, 2026 (BSS) - The government has published the final results of the historic referendum held on the implementation of the July National Charter and the proposed constitutional reforms through a gazette notification.
According to the gazette, 48,200,660 votes were cast in favour of the constitutional reform proposals, meaning 'Yes' votes.
The notification, signed by Senior Secretary of the Election Commission (EC) Secretariat Akhtar Ahmed, was published from the Bangladesh Government Press on Friday night.
It said that in the referendum held on February 12, a total of 22,071,726 votes were cast against the proposals, meaning 'No' votes.
The gazette further stated that a total of 77,695,023 voters exercised their franchise in the referendum.
Of them, 70,272,386 votes were declared valid, while 7,422,637 ballots were rejected.
