DHAKA, Jan 26, 2026 (BSS) - Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has underscored the need to further enhance the quality of training at the institution so that police officers from foreign countries can regularly attend and receive advanced professional training.
He made the remarks while presiding over the 20th Board Meeting of the Board of Directors of Police Staff College Bangladesh at the meeting room of the college.
Jahangir, also Chairman of the board, directed that skilled and competent officers be posted to the Police Staff College.
He also emphasized the importance of holding board meetings on a regular basis to ensure effective governance.
During the meeting, the Board held detailed discussions on key administrative and strategic issues, including the organization of higher-level training programmes, expansion of training scope, infrastructural development, reforms in organizational structure, manpower enhancement, and the strengthening of academic and research activities at the college.
The meeting was attended by Vice Chairman of the Board and Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Nasimul Ghani, Inspector General of Police, Bangladesh, Baharul Alam, Secretary of the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division, Dr Hafiz Ahmed Chowdhury, Rector of Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre, Sayeed Mahbub Khan, Vice Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University, Professor Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan along with other distinguished board members.
The session was chaired by Rector of Police Staff College Bangladesh and Board Secretary, Additional IGP Kazi Md. Fazlul Karim.
