DHAKA, Jan 22, 2026 (BSS) - Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus today called upon all to stand by the weak and help others with acquired knowledge to build a beautiful society.
“May we help others with our knowledge . . . Let us stand by the weak and build a beautiful society,” he said in a message on the occasion of Saraswati Puja, extending his sincere greetings and congratulations to the Hindu community.
Noting that Bangladesh is a shining example of communal harmony, the Chief Adviser said all people irrespective of religions, caste, creed and color have been living here with mutual respect and harmony for thousands of years.
“This country belongs to all of us. It (this country) is a safe abode for all people irrespective of caste and religions,” said the head of the government.
On the occasion of the holy Saraswati Puja festival, Prof Yunus expressed the hope that the education should not only be for our own betterment, but also for the betterment of society.
Terming Goddess Saraswati, according to Hinduism, symbolises truth, justice, and enlightenment, the Chief Adviser said, “She is the patroness of knowledge, speech and melody. She takes us from the darkness of ignorance to the path of light.”
Prof Yunus also wished peace, welfare, and prosperity to all citizens of Bangladesh.
