DHAKA, Jan 18, 2026 (BSS) - Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in front of the Election Commission (EC) building,  Agargaon, Dhaka, to maintain law and order, according to a short message service of the force.

The BGB personnel will assist law enforcement agencies in ensuring overall security in the area and preventing any untoward incidents. 

The presence of the force is aimed at maintaining public safety and ensuring a peaceful environment around the EC premises.

Authorities said the situation remains under control, and normal activities are continuing in the area under strict security supervision.
