DHAKA, Dec 30, 2025 (BSS) – BNP leader Amanullah Aman today described the death of BNP Chairperson and three-time former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia as an irreparable loss to the nation.

He made the remarks in front of the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan this morning.

“She proved herself as an uncompromising leader both nationally and internationally. She never yielded to injustice,” Aman said. “She always stated that the people and soil of Bangladesh were her only home; she had no other address.”

Aman, an adviser to the party chairperson, added that despite facing severe persecution, false cases, long-term imprisonment, and even slow poisoning, she never left the country. She was denied proper medical treatment, and repeated requests for advanced treatment abroad were ignored by the then-government.

He further said that her death has cast a shadow of grief across the country and internationally. “The nation will recognize her contributions. May Allah grant her Jannatul Ferdous for the work she did for the country and its people,” Aman said.

Referring to the unprecedented outpouring of public grief at the funeral of Martyred President Ziaur Rahman, he said, “The love, affection, and respect of the people for Begum Khaleda Zia today cannot be expressed in words.”

He added that under the leadership of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, the party will complete her unfinished work and work unitedly to implement her ideals with the people of the country.
