Ministry forms special cell to address expatriates' complaints

DHAKA, June 2, 2026 (BSS) - The Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment has formed a special cell to ensure prompt resolution of complaints and problems faced by Bangladeshi expatriates.

The information was disclosed in an office order issued by the ministry's administration wing.

According to the order, a five-member Complaint Resolution and Redress Cell has been formed, headed by the Additional Secretary or Joint Secretary of the ministry's Monitoring and Enforcement Wing.

Other members include the Joint Secretary of the Welfare Wing, Deputy Secretary of the Law Wing, Deputy Secretary of the Service and Protocol Wing, and the Senior Assistant Secretary of the Enforcement-2 Wing, who will act as the member secretary.

The cell will take necessary measures to promptly address complaints received through the ministry's designated email addresses ([email protected] and [email protected]).

The order said reports on complaints received and actions taken would be submitted to the minister and secretary on a daily or weekly basis.

The cell may also co-opt additional members if necessary.

The order, signed by Deputy Secretary Dr Anisur Rahman, came into effect immediately.
