DHAKA, Dec 24, 2025 (BSS) – The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 today took cognisance of the formal charge submitted in a crimes against humanity case over the killing of college student Imam Hasan Taim in the capital’s Jatrabari area during the July Mass Uprising.
Confirming the development, Prosecutor Abdullah Al Noman told journalists that the tribunal took into cognisance the charges brought against 11 accused, including former Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner Habibur Rahman.
He said the tribunal also ordered the authorities concerned to produce the 11 accused before the court on January 5, 2026.
Taim, a second-year student of Adamjee Nagar Government College in Narayanganj, was shot at close range on July 20 near the Kajla footbridge under Jatrabari Police Station.
According to the prosecution, police personnel later took Taim to Jatrabari Police Station, where he subsequently died after being subjected to torture.
