3 day int’l conference ‘EICT 2025’ ends at KUET

KHULNA, Dec 20, 2025 (BSS) - A three-day international conference titled the 7th International Conference on Electrical, Information and Communication Technology (EICT 2025) concluded at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) on Friday evening at the Teachers’ Auditorium of the university guest house.

The conference was organised by the university’s Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) Department and brought together researchers, engineers and academics from home and abroad.

Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Intergovernmental Organizations and Consular Affairs), M. Farhadul Islam, addressed the programme as the chief guest.

Vice-Chancellor of KUET, Prof Dr Md Maksud Helali, was present as the chief patron of the conference.

The programme was presided over by Conference Chair and Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Prof Dr Md Rafiqul Islam. 

The international conference, which began on December 18, focused on recent developments and challenges in the fields of electrical, information and communication technology. Researchers and engineers from different countries presented their latest research findings during the sessions.

The event was technically co-sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Speakers at the closing session said such international conferences play a vital role in knowledge exchange and in addressing the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

At the end of the programme, the Fatema Rashid Best Paper Award and IEEE Best Paper Award were presented to authors of selected outstanding research papers.

Among others, Organising Chair Prof Dr Kazi Md Rakibul Alam, Publication Chair Prof Dr Monir Hossain, TPC Chair Prof Dr Md Rafiqul Islam and TPC Secretary Prof Dr A B M Awlad Hossain, were present.

The three-day conference featured discussions on modern research trends, challenges and prospects in the electrical and ICT sectors. A total of 142 technical papers, selected from 1,042 submissions from 15 countries, were presented in 25 technical sessions.

Researchers, teachers, renowned engineers and technologists from the United States, France, Japan, Canada, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, India and Bangladesh, among others, participated in the conference.
