DHAKA, Dec 20, 2025 (BSS) - The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) has urged citizens to directly report any social media posts inciting terrorism or violence, starting tomorrow.
Chief Adviser's Special Assistant on Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb wrote in a Facebook post that "The National Cyber Security Agency will begin accepting reports directly on WhatsApp or mail from tomorrow."
He added, "Reports can be submitted directly via WhatsApp to 01308332592 or by email at [email protected]."
According to the agency, after initial verification, the reported content will be forwarded to the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) for submission to the respective social media platforms.
Taiyeb also noted that the government does not have the authority to remove any social media post directly; rather, it can report posts related to violence to the concerned platforms by presenting logical grounds.
"Hate speech which directly incites violence or calls for violent acts is a punishable offence under the National Cyber Security Ordinance 2025," he mentioned in the post on his verified page.
The NCSA further called upon people to refrain from using social media as a tool to incite violence and urged all to remain vigilant about ensuring the safety of the country as well as the lives and property of its citizens.
