HABIGANJ, Dec 17, 2025 (BSS) - Habiganj Agricultural University (HAU) today celebrated its fifth founding anniversary with colorful events.

The celebration began with a procession at 12:30pm marched from Gopaya Union Parishad and ended at the university campus, with students carrying agriculture-themed festoons. 

After the procession, balloons and peace pigeons were released and cutting of the anniversary cake by invited guests, teachers and students followed.

HAU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Syed Sayeem Uddin Ahmad, BNP National Executive Committee Organizing Secretary Alhaj GK Gaus, BNP Habiganj district joint convener Islam Tarafdar Tanu, Jamaat-e-Islami Habiganj district Ameer Maulana Mukhlisur Rahman, Secretary Kazi Mohsin Ahmed, National Citizen Party (NCP) Habiganj district convener Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal, and Islami Andolan Bangladesh Habiganj district general secretary Md Shamsul Huda were present at the event, among others.

Extending greetings, VC Prof. Syed Sayeem said HAU would play an important role in the agricultural development of Habiganj and the Haor region through education and research. 

Hobiganj Agricultural University was established on December 17 in 2020 to promote agricultural education and research.
