RAJSHAHI, Dec 8, 2025 (BSS) - A seminar on higher education in the United States of America (USA) was held at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) today.

RUET Students Welfare Office and Carrier Forum jointly organized the seminar titled “Prospects of Higher Education in USA” at the conference hall of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). 
 
Vice-chancellor Prof SM Abdur Razzaque, Students Welfare Director Prof Rabiul Islam Sarker and Assistant Director Abu Ismail Siddiqui addressed the meeting as resource persons disseminating their expertise on the issue.

RUET students and representatives of Education USA and American Corner in Rajshahi joined the seminar sharing views about the issue.

In the seminar, various issues, including eligibility for admission in different USA universities, application process for VISA, were presented. 

The seminar was informed that 20,156 Bangladeshis are staying in the USA for higher education at present.

According to the Institute of International Education (IIE), Bangladesh stands at 9th position in the list of quick growing countries of international students.
