DHAKA, Nov 30, 2025 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 636 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts, killing at least five persons in the past 24 hours.
"We recorded deaths of five dengue patients in 24 hours ending at 8 am today," a spokesman of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said adding his office simultaneously recorded 636 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts during the same period.
According to the DGHS statistics, one died in areas with purview of Chattogram division, three in Dhaka South City Corporation and one in Khulna division.
"Out of the 636 fresh cases, 75 were hospitalised in Barishal division, 95 in Chattogram division, 116 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 74 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 147 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 56 in Khulna division, 45 in Mymensingh division, 17 in Rajshahi division, two in Rangpur division and nine in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 382 deaths while the disease inflicted 94,402.
The dengue last year claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in the country.
