DHAKA, November 23, 2025 (BSS)- Food Adviser Ali Imam Majumdar today said the officers and the employees of the food department are facing challenges everyday to ensure food security of the people.

“The employees and the officers of the food department have been successfully dealing with the challenges regarding the country’s food security for a long time. After the change of the government in 2024, most of the departments except the food department collapsed. They handled the situation successfully and worked relentlessly to tackle the future challenges,” he said.

The food adviser said this while speaking at a function on the occasion of giving reception to the officials and employees of the department for their contribution to achieve Aman and Boro procurement in the year 2024-2025.

Total 31 officers and employees were given reception at the event in different categories for their contribution in procurement, honesty, personal initiative and management, situation management and coordination.

The adviser congratulated the awardees and asked them to start working with renewed enthusiasm.

“Adequate amount of food will remain in stock during our departure after the election Inshallah,” he added urging al officials and employees to work with utmost responsibility and complete the procurement before February.

Food Secretary Md Masudul Hasan joined the event as the special guest with Food department Director General Md Abul Hasnat Humayun Kabir in the chair.
