DHAKA, Nov 20, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali has warned that those involved in acts of sabotage-such as crude bomb explosions and arson attacks, will be declared undesirable in Dhaka city and brought under the law.
Speaking at the DMP's monthly crime review meeting at Rajarbagh Police Lines today, he emphasized strict impartiality by police members during the upcoming national elections.
He stated that police will use maximum lawful force to maintain order and protect lives and property, instructing all units to strengthen patrols.
Additional Police Commissioner (Admin) Md. Sarwar urged proper use of social media under government policies and increased use of D-documents.
Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) S. N. Md. Nazrul Islam stressed quick action after case filings and maintaining high ethical standards during the election period, especially amid sensitivity surrounding International Crimes Tribunal verdicts.
Crime data for October 2025-covering robbery, theft, murder, accidents, abuse, rape, and recovery of drugs and weapons-was presented by Joint Commissioner Md. Faruk Hossain.
Officers of various ranks were awarded for their contributions to law and order during the month.
