BAU launches online certificate automation system

MYMENSINGH, Nov 20, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) has officially inaugurated a fully automated online system for issuing academic certificates, aiming to reduce processing time and eliminate student hassles.

Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. AK Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan launched the service today (Thursday) from the VC’s office.

Developed by the Education Affairs Branch with technical support from the university’s ICT Cell, the system becomes operational immediately.

Under the new arrangement, students of graduate, postgraduate and PhD programmmes—whether residing in Bangladesh or abroad—can apply online for provisional and original certificates through the BAU ERP platform or the university’s website. They can also complete all required payments digitally.

Among others present at the inauguration were Registrar Md. Helal Uddin, Student Affairs Advisor Professor Dr. Md. Shahidul Haque, Treasurer (Current Responsibilities) Professor Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir, faculty deans, Proctor Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Alim, ICT Cell Director Professor Dr. Md. Rustam Ali, Additional Registrar of the Education Branch Md. Sarwar Jahan and Dr. Faruk Ahmed.

Explaining the process, ICT Cell Director Professor Dr. Md. Rustam Ali said students will log into the ERP or access the BAU website, select the “Apply for Certificate” option, and proceed with the online application. Once they enter their student ID, the system will automatically display their name, degree and academic information.

Certificate options along with corresponding fees will appear, and payments can be completed through various online methods. After verification, certificates will be sent to the respective student halls, from where students can collect them following hall clearance.

Additional Registrar Dr. Faruk Ahmed noted that the initiative was taken to enhance student convenience. Offline applications will remain open only until the end of this month, after which the entire process will shift online.

He added that BAU has been storing data for automation since 2012, and earlier records will be updated to bring all students under the system.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Bhuiyan said the university has taken a significant step toward simplifying certificate collection. The new system aims to ensure that students can receive their certificates within a maximum of 72 hours after completing the online application and payment.

He praised the ICT Cell and Education Branch for their efforts in implementing the programme.

With the launch of the certificate automation system, BKU expects a faster, more efficient and fully digitalized certification process, benefiting thousands of students and making academic administration more dynamic.
