DHAKA, Nov 19, 2025 (BSS) - Six students of Dhaka University (DU)’s Faculty of Pharmacy have received the Dean’s Award for their outstanding results in the Bachelor of Professional Pharmacy examinations of the 2022 and 2023 academic years. 

In addition, seven teachers of the faculty were awarded Dean’s Honor for their special contributions to research in 2023, 2024 and 2025, said a press release today.

The award giving ceremony was held today at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban. 
Two individuals received the Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Society (BPS) Gold Medal, and two others were awarded the Novelist Sarder Jayenuddin Gold Medal.

Moreover, eight students who achieved the highest GPA or marks in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year professional B. Pharm examinations of 2022 and 2023 were awarded the Badrunnessa Gafur Memorial Trust Scholarship, while 16 students received the Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Society (BPS) Scholarship.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan attended the ceremony as the chief guest with Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Professor Dr. Selim Reza in the chair.

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Sayema Haque Bidisha, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed, and Treasurer Professor Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury attended as special guests. 

Chairman of Radiant Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Md. Naser Shahriar Zahedi, delivered the Dean’s Award speech. 
Recipients of the Dean’s Award are Sadia Afrin, Fahima Jannat Koli, and Al Ashiqur Rahman Alif (2022); Md. Tawhidul Islam, Rafiuddin Khan Labib, and Rumman Reza (2023).

Recipients of the Dean’s Honor (Teachers) are Professor Dr. Abu Asad Chowdhury, Professor Dr. Mohammad Rashedul Haque, Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Muhit, Professor Dr. Shimul Haldar,
Dr. Md. Al Amin Sikder, Dr. Zobayer Al Mahmud, and Dr. Md. Raihan Sarkar.

BPS Gold Medal Recipients are Sadia Afrin and Md. Towhidul Islam.
Novelist Sardar Joyenuddin Gold Medal Recipients are Sadia Afrin and Rumman Reza.
