DHAKA, Nov 18, 2025 (BSS) – The government has said it scrapped names of 53 “July fighters” from the official list earlier published in the official gazette in view of different complaints and irregularities.

According to a Liberation War Ministry notification issued yesterday, the 53 individuals who were stripped off their status as “July fighters” hailed from Rangpur Division.

Earlier, on August 3, in an identical order eight people of different parts of the country lost their status as “July fighters” as discrepancies were found during a verification process.

According to the official statistics the number of July warriors are 13,800, while the number of martyred are 836.
