DHAKA, Nov 17, 2025 (BSS) - The Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) has launched a new service enabling customers to download and print the approved copy of the fire safety plan No Objection Certificate (NOC) directly from home.
Previously, applicants had to visit the department in person to collect the document.
According to a press release from the FSCD media cell, the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to simplify public services and enhance digital accessibility.
While online applications were already available, the approval copies had until now been issued only through manual collection.
Fire Service Director (Operations and Maintenance) Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Tajul Islam stated that the service was introduced following the directives of the Director General of the FSCD to ensure transparency and improve efficiency.
He noted that, under the Fire Prevention and Extinguishing Act 2003, fire safety plans are mandatory for commercial, industrial, and multi-storey residential buildings.
He expressed optimism that the new online facility will encourage greater compliance with fire safety regulations, strengthen building safety, and enhance the ability to respond effectively to fire-related incidents.
