DHAKA, Nov 16, 2025 (BSS) -The government today reshuffled several key positions of the police department including its supernumerary additional inspector general (Addl-IG), Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Additional DIG, Superintendent of Police (SP) level officials.

According to four separate circulars of the home affairs ministry, the government transferred an Addl-IG, four DIGs, 18 Addl-DIGs and 15 SPs in different stations for people’s interest.

In the reshuffle, police headquarters Addl-IG Md Fazlul Karim has been transferred to Police Staff College, Dhaka as rector, DIG of Police Telecom Md Rafiqul Hasan Gani to Highway police as DIG, DIG of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) Md Nazrul Islam to APBn headquarters as DIG, DIIG of Highway Police Salma Begum to APBn (Hill tracts districts office) as DIG, Commandant (Addl-DIG) of PSTS, Betbunia, Rangamati to Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as Addl-DIG, Addl-DIG AFM Anjuman Kalam to PSTS, Betbunia, Rangamati as Commandant (Addl-DIG), Commander (Addl-DIG) of 10 APBn, Barishal Abu Ahammad Al Mamun to Police Headquarters as Addl-DIG, Addl-DIG (current charge) of Rajshahi Range Md Shahab Uddin to 10 APBn, Barishal as Commander (Addl-DIG current charge), Addl-DIG of Barishal Range Md Nazimul Haq to Chattogram Range as Addl-DIG, supernumerary Addl-DIG of Police Headquarters Dr Md Saifullah Bin Anowar to Barishal Range office as SP (Supernumerary Addl-DIG), Addl-DIG of Special Branch (SB) sarkar Mohammad 

Kaiser to Highway police as Addl-DIG, Addl commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Md Asfiquzzaman Aktar to DMP as joint commissioner, DC (supernumerary Addl-DIG)  of  CMP Hussein Mohammad Kabir Bhuiyan to Highway Police as SP (supernumerary Addl-DIG) , DC (supernumerary Addl-DIG) of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Sheikh Shariful Islam to CMP as DC (supernumerary Addl-DIG), SP (supernumerary Addl-DIG)  of SB Mohammad Moniruzzaman to Police Headquarters as Assistant Inspector General (AIG), (supernumerary Addl-DIG) and AIG (supernumerary Addl-DIG) of police Headquarters Mohammad Ehsan Sattar to Barishal Metropolitan Police as DC (supernumerary Addl-DIG).      

Besides, the notification, however, said that SP of Anti Terrorism Unit (ATU) Md Shariar, Special SP of SB Dr Mohammad Abdul Kader, special SP of CID Md Masum Billah Talukdar and Addl-DIG (current charge) of Police Headquarters Md Jannatul Hasan, who earlier received promotion for Addl-DIG, have been transferred to different stations.

The notification also transferred SPs and supernumerary SPs to various units and districts as part of the reshuffle. 

The order issued for public interest will come into effect immediately, it added.
