DHAKA, Nov 14, 2025 (BSS) – The government has published ‘Integrated Policy on Fertiliser Dealership and Distribution-2025’ to streamline the fertilizer distribution system.
The new policy, signed by agricultural ministry’s additional secretary Ahmed Faisal Imam, was published on Thursday, according to an official release here today.
“Fertilizer dealer enrollment and fertilizer distribution related integrated policy has been formulated with the approval of the fertilizer affairs national coordination and consultation committee aiming to make fertilizer available timely to the farmers through making the fertilizer distribution systematic,”
said the new policy.
The new police will come into effect from November 16, 2925.
The policy is time befitting and has been formulated to ensure accountability of the people concerned.
This new policy aims to reduce corruption and ensure fair pricing for farmers.
The policy will also bring fertiliser distribution and management under a single umbrella as there will no longer be separate dealers for the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation or the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation.
As per the new policy, each union will have three government-registered dealers. Sub-dealers will no longer be allowed to operate once new dealerships are appointed under the new policy.
The cancellation and renew of dealership would be made through evaluating the dealership programme more intensively.
The new policy has been published in the agricultural ministry website www.moa.gov.bd. If there is any ambiguity on explanation or inquiry regarding the policy, people concerned are asked to contact agricultural ministry’s phone numbers –02-55100351 or 02-55100495.
