DHAKA, Nov 11, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia have signed the Hajj agreement for 2026, allowing 78,500 Bangladeshi pilgrims to perform Hajj.
The agreement was signed in Jeddah by Religious Affairs Adviser Dr A F M Khalid Hossain for Bangladesh and Saudi Hajj and Umrah Minister Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah for Saudi Arabia.
Ahead of the signing, Dr Khalid Hossain discussed overall Hajj management with the Saudi minister, briefed him on Bangladesh's progress in Hajj arrangements and requested improvements in tents at Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah, water supply and sanitation facilities.
The Saudi minister appreciated Bangladesh's Hajj arrangements and pledged to provide the highest level of services for Bangladeshi pilgrims.
He also accepted Dr Khalid Hossain's invitation to visit Bangladesh.
The signing ceremony was attended by Religious Secretary Md. Kamal Uddin, Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia M. Delwar Hossain, Saudi Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah for International Cooperation Dr Al-Hassan Yehia Al-Manakhra, Saudi Ambassador to Dhaka, Dr. Abdullah Zafer bin Abiyah, Hajj Division Additional Secretary Md. Ayatul Islam, Consul General of Bangladesh in Jeddah Md Shakhawat Hossain and other officials.
